The illustrations are my thesis project in Junior year and got selected for the exhibition. "Posioned Apples and Smoking Lamps." The illustrations are based on Rapunzel by Brothers Grimm. I am specifically depicting the themes of forbidden sexuality and fertility in the text. The images reflect the sexual conflict that underlines the story. I chose to set the timeline in the victorian era which has lots of decorative element and object that I always enjoy drawing!
